About The Scholarship

Are you interested in a career in horticulture or landscaping? Currently studying at a tertiary institution and headed in to your final year? The Advance Plants Horticulture Scholarship could be for you!

As a business, we have committed to helping one outstanding horticulture or landscaping student each year with a $1,500 AUD grant towards their study. As well as an offer of two weeks work experience in our indoor or outdoor team.

The cut-off date for applying for the scholarship is
1 August (extended to 1 September in 2023) of each year, with the winner chosen in September (October 2023) and the prize paid prior to 30 September (31 October 2023). Any applications received after 1 August (1 September in 2023) will be considered for the following year’s scholarship.

About Us

Advance Plants is an indoor plant hire and landscape maintenance company based in Brisbane, servicing the South East Queensland corner. 

We specialise in long-term indoor plant hire, green walls and landscape maintenance contracts for a range of corporate businesses from high-star hotels to prestigious shopping centres and corporate offices. 

We want to hire passionate team members with a true love for plants. It is our aim that the Advance Plants Horticulture Scholarship will help shape future industry leaders. 

Eligibility

Applications are open to current tertiary educated students who meet the following conditions:

  1. In their final or second to last year of tertiary level education (e.g. TAFE Queensland, the University of Queensland)
  2. Studying horticulture, landscaping or a course that is relevant. If you think your degree fits please enquire and we will let you know
  3. Australian citizen and Queensland resident
  4. Not an employee of Advance Plants
  5. Complete the application form (below) to be considered
  6. Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a Zoom interview.

Selection

Having met the eligibility criteria, the recipient will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Passion and/or interest for study in horticulture
  • Demonstrated life experience that contributes to the motivation to study horticulture
  • Clearly communicates a vision of where horticulture may lead them after graduation.
